Tanner Gritzmaker

Nichols Arboretum/Refugia Festival Student Coordinator

Tanner Gritzmaker is a master’s student at the University of Michigan pursuing a degree in Information. She is interested in data sonification, sound studies, environmental psychology, and cultivating healthier soundscapes for both people and the planet. In a broad sense, she seeks to explore how sound helps people better connect and even empathize with information–the world–around them. Outside of school, she enjoys playing Celtic harp (and gradually learning more about electronic music production), hiking, and any and all things astronomy-related. As a previous volunteer with Refugia, Tanner is excited to serve as student coordinator this year and looks forward to welcoming you to the festival!
