Alexis Ford

Alexis Ford is the Event Coordinator for Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum. She has a degree in art and arts management from Eastern Michigan University and over 15 years of experience running festivals, art fairs, and cultural events across the southeast Michigan area. She enjoys picnics, sewing, and DJing.

"It is a pleasure to host an environmentally immersive festival in Nichols Arboretum, a site that has many logistical challenges, number one being the preservation of the plants, animals, and landscapes. Refugia presents a new interpretation of site specificity and an approach to zero-impact not often honored by traditional music festivals in park settings."
