Alexis C. Lamb

Founder & Artistic Director

Alexis C. Lamb is a composer, percussionist, educator, festival director, and arts administrator whose work seeks to highlight our natural, historical, and societal relationships. Much of her artistic work incorporates storytelling, process over product, and listening and resonating with our surroundings. Lamb founded Refugia Festival while completing her doctorate at the University of Michigan. She has over a decade of experience incorporating nature-inspired themes into compositional work and has collaborated with other artists, acoustic ecologists, and scientific experts eager to make a positive difference in the world through our sense of sound. In addition to her Doctor of Musical Arts from U-M, she also holds degrees from the Yale School of Music and Northern Illinois University.
